Ancient Kauri Crafts and Kitchenware

Your Ancient Kauri wood product can be washed in warm soapy water. If your purchase needs re-oiling, simply wipe over with any type of cooking oil e.g. olive oil, sunflower oil, soya oil.

Ancient Kauri Bowls and Platters

Bowls and platters made of Ancient Kauri are finished in beeswax. If only used for display wipe over with a damp cloth otherwise wash in warm soapy water.

If you use the bowl for fruit, line the bottom of the bowl with a paper towel and change daily. This will prevent spoiled fruit from marking the bowl.

To restore to its original state, simply apply a coat of beeswax. This will probably need to be done 2-3 times per year, depending on the amount of use it has had.

If the bowl needs complete re-waxing, soak it in warm soapy water for 10-15 minutes, let it dry completely, and re-wax. Alternatively you can rub in cooking oil, but this will not give the smooth finish that beeswax does.

Ancient Kauri Fine Art

Fine Art items have a high quality finish and will only require periodic dusting using a soft damp cloth.

Ancient Kauri Furniture

Furniture items are finished with several coats of clear lacquer. To clean, simply wipe over with a damp cloth. As the items are solid timber their surface scratches and dents can be professionally removed by stripping them down and sanding them back. This will ensure that they remain as timeless heirlooms for future generations.
